‘My name is not Savarkar…Gandhis don’t apologise’: Rahul Gandhi

Former Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at Hindutva ideologue V D Savarkar during a press conference, stating that his name is Gandhi and Gandhis don’t apologise. This comes after controversy sparked last year when Gandhi claimed that Savarkar helped the British government during the freedom struggle. Gandhi also addressed his disqualification from parliament, stating that it was retribution for demanding a probe into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relationship with billionaire Gautam Adani. He stated that he is not bothered by the disqualification and will continue to defend the democratic voice of Indian people.
